Nicaela Davies is a Registered Cognitive and Educational Assessor with LDANZ and holds Level C Assessor registration with NZCER. She trained in psychology and education at the University of Otago and Christchurch College of Education. She furthered her knowledge with professional development and accreditation in consultation, project management and assessment in the United Kingdom.
Her background spans teaching, education consultancy, workshop facilitation, corporate project management and psychometric assessment. She believes that recognising, understanding and supporting learning differences is empowering.
Nicaela is committed to strengths-based, evidence-informed approaches that identify adaptive and positive pathways to success. Her practice is trauma-informed, relational and underpinned by both lived experience and professional knowledge of neurodivergence and neurological disability.
Ongoing learning is important; Nicaela is currently exploring how language underpins literacy, identifying and supporting gifted and twice-exceptional learners, and explicit instruction, particularly in mathematics.
She collaborates with LDANZ assessors, speech-language therapists, psychologists, paediatricians, psychiatrists, occupational therapists and educators to ensure people receive the right professional support.
